"In order for us to heal it is necessary to name what it is you most want for your future. This is to name action which is shaped by the field of the future rather than dictated by family patterns from the past"

What is a Geneosociogram?
How can it heal your Family System?
All family systems have hereditary characteristics which are passed down through the generations. The most powerful repetition is that of our shared family beliefs. It is important to recognise these repeating patterns and scripts before you can change your own patterns.
To understand ourselves, we make a 4 generational systemic map, a GENOSOCIOGRAM, a long and established and proven method in psychotherapy. This gives us a visual representation of the unconscious repetitions in our family history. It goes beyond autobiographical details and records all individual and collective trauma in the family. It also includes both our cultural and religious identity. Who we are cannot be separated from where we are from and the significant traumatic life events like war or famine that may have taken place there.
Understanding the historical context and the roots of our family belief systems enable us to disentangle and heal ourselves.
What is Systemic Constellation Therapy?
In order for us to heal it is necessary to understand we are not isolated
individuals. All families carry certain hereditary characteristics which have been passed down through the generations. As a result, we all carry the inherited patterns, myths and attitudes of at least 3 generations before us. Family myths and scripts pass down through the generations as surely as blue eyes or red hair. The power of our family history should never be underestimated for it is not in the past. It is a living present within each of us. Everyone in this line of descent is included and regarded equally whether they are living or deceased, or whether we knew them or not.
We look at ourselves, and our relationship to our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents, both the living and the deceased. We construct a systemic map, a genosociogram, that goes beyond autobiographical details and includes both our
cultural and religious identity. Who we are cannot be separated from where we are from and the significant traumatic life events like war or famine that may have taken place. It also records all individual and collective trauma in the family.
The most powerful repetition in our family tree is that of shared beliefs where we express ourselves through words. These then become our repeating family scripts. It is important to recognise these repeating patterns and scripts before you change your own patterns and your life. Without knowing our family history, our line of descent, it is impossible to know where our family behavioural patterns come from. What SCT also recognises is that adversity continues to impact survivors and their descendants long after the original incident. Many of our scripts of suffering, anxiety and depression are best understood as the unconscious inherited transmission of learned family responses to the traumatic experiences and unfinished business of previous generations often before we were even born. Understanding the historical context and the roots of our suffering disentangles us and heals us.
